As a Global Marketing Automation Assistant Director, you will lead MarTech campaign initiatives, focusing on strategic, end-to-end execution of campaigns using tools like Marketo and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA). This role is pivotal in overseeing the development and implementation of marketing technology strategies, enhancing campaign effectiveness, improving customer engagement, and driving business growth. It demands a unique blend of technical expertise, marketing insight, and strong leadership skills, along with high attention to detail, motivation, and proven effectiveness in working with diverse teams and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) tool implementation and product usage across various countries and regions.
- Design and build new CJA dashboards aligned with global and regional priorities and goals.
- Drive and lead campaign management leveraging marketing technologies aligned with MarTech strategy and business goals.
- Oversee the development and implementation of marketing technology strategies to enhance campaign effectiveness and customer engagement.
- Utilize hands-on experience with email marketing applications, particularly Marketo, and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of email marketing.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather content, assets, and target audience parameters for campaign execution, setting clear expectations.
- Act as Project Manager and Subject Matter Expert for Marketing Automation and MarTech tools (Marketo & CJA), supporting stakeholder queries and liaising with regional teams.
- Advise Regional and Global teams on campaign best practices, collaborating with BMC Campaign Managers and other BMC teams (EY.com, Editorial, Brand to Demand).
- Connect with BMC campaign managers to anticipate campaign volumes and plan for high-quality delivery, managing team capacity and workload.
- Lead and manage data governance activities, including data clean-up and normalization, to improve database quality.
- Ensure compliance with global standards, security, content governance, and data handling protocols like GDPR and CAN-SPAM.
- Proactively engage with country teams to assess data maturity in Marketo.
- Provide project support throughout various stages, including testing use cases.
- Deliver regular reporting on marketing automation campaign performance, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support process improvements, educate users on best practices, and facilitate onboarding to new MarTech tools.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of MarTech initiatives and campaigns.
- Analyze data incidents and user errors, defining mitigation plans for regional teams.
- Champion the EY brand, ensuring all external campaigns and online content align with the firm’s strategy and comply with risk and quality safeguards.
- Regularly connect with the team to discuss performance, define improvement areas, and align trainings.
- Adapt coaching techniques to meet diverse team needs, recommending development activities and cross-trainings.
- Lead monthly connects with iGTM stakeholders to provide oversight on utilization, performance, learning, wellbeing, and challenges.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Proficient experience with MarTech tools, specifically Adobe Marketo Engage and CJA. Marketo and CJA certifications are beneficial but not mandatory.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest marketing trends, tools, and best practices, including marketing automation concepts (lead generation, customer journey, lead nurturing).
- Proven strong leadership skills to manage small and large diversified teams across different countries.
- Strong interpersonal skills, analytical mindset, and problem-solving capability.
- Familiarity with Agile planning and project management methodologies.
- Ability to manage marketing automation efforts, proactively researching and implementing industry best practices.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, with a sense of urgency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and SharePoint.
Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in Digital Marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of 9-10 years of experience in Digital/email marketing strategy, stakeholder management, and leadership roles.
- Strong project management skills, including managing stakeholder expectations and multiple campaigns.
- Detail-oriented, organized self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced corporate environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to review processes and suggest automation improvements.
- Solid technical and leadership skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to virtual teams.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Familiarity with complex, multi-national organizations is highly preferred.
- Mandatory understanding of data privacy and integrity rules (GDPR, CAN-SPAM) and customer journeys to identify risks and implement security measures.
