  • Develop and implement data migration strategies, including planning, design, and execution phases.
  • Act as the primary migration authority for clients and delivery teams, translating business needs into migration outcomes.
  • Provide leadership on data migration approaches, advising on migration patterns and constraints.
  • Design and document data migration solution architectures, processes, workflows, mappings, and technical specifications.
  • Guide the selection and use of ETL / ELT tools, automation frameworks, and reconciliation approaches.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance, data quality, and data ownership standards across migration programmes.
  • Analyse and assess data quality, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective measures.
  • Ensure migrations comply with privacy, regulatory, and security requirements, including data residency and retention obligations.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, dependencies, and issues to senior management.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the development of migration accelerators, templates, and reusable assets.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to data migration and data governance.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Proven expertise in end‑to‑end data migration, including discovery, planning, execution, reconciliation, and post‑migration support, and implementing pragmatic approaches.

  • A good understanding of data governance principles, including data ownership, standards, controls, and data quality frameworks.
  • Ability to analyse and assess data quality, identify issues, and implement remediation measures.
  • Strong skills in designing and documenting migration architectures, workflows, mappings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience guiding the selection and use of ETL / ELT tools, automation frameworks, and reconciliation approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams.
