Location

Team and Role Overview
Led by the Chief Information Officer, the Digital and Technology Solutions Group was established in 2023 to empower our customers and employees to conquer the world by consistently delivering reliable and secure digital services. The Group aims to:
- Define, establish, and maintain the integrated technology target state, target data model, and technology activities necessary for EDC’s operational transformation by 2030.
- Create and manage the ongoing three-year digital roadmap, which outlines the order of results required to achieve the target technology state and facilitates its implementation across all areas of the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure EDC has the digital tools to remain relevant in the market and expand Canada’s international business presence.
- Oversee the integrated implementation of digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity projects to deliver an excellent experience for customers, users, and employees.
The Manager, End User IT / Workplace Solutions is responsible for the deployment and operational excellence of enterprise end-user technologies and related end-to-end strategies. These solutions include laptops, peripherals, mobility tools, endpoint management, and core end-user productivity services that enable a secure, modern, and user-friendly employee experience.
This is a role that combines people leadership, service ownership, and strategic deployment. The successful candidate will ensure that end-user IT services are reliable, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with business needs, security standards, and digital workplace priorities.
What You Will Do
End User IT Strategy and Service Ownership:
- Manage the end-user IT services portfolio, including endpoints, operating systems, endpoint management platforms (e.g., Intune), peripherals, and associated lifecycle services.
- Define and implement the end-user IT roadmap in alignment with enterprise digital workspace, security, and employee experience strategies. Balance user experience with cost optimization and security posture across all end-user IT services.
Operational Excellence and Service Delivery:
- Ensure the high availability, reliability, and performance of end-user IT services across the enterprise.
- Oversee incident, problem, and change management for end-user IT, adhering to IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and governance.
- Serve as the escalation point for critical end-user IT incidents and issues impacting employees, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
People Leadership and Vendor Management:
- Lead, coach, and build a team of engineers, analysts, or managed service partners focused on end-user IT.
- Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and development plans for team members.
- Manage strategic relationships with vendors and managed service partners, ensuring contractual obligations and service levels are met while fostering value realization.
Security, Compliance, and Risk Management:
- Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, identity and access management, and risk management teams to ensure endpoint device configurations, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Ensure end-user IT services comply with corporate policies for device security, data protection, and access control.
Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement:
- Act as a trusted partner to leaders in business units, HR, IT, and digital employee experience teams.
- Utilize metrics, service insights, and user feedback to continuously improve end-user IT services and employee satisfaction. Drive innovation and modernization of the digital workplace, including automation and the use of AI-powered endpoints where appropriate.
What We Are Looking For
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in end-user IT, workplace technology, or IT operations.
- At least 3 years of experience managing technology teams as a people manager.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse, cross-functional teams, including junior and senior employees, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and performance-driven culture aligned with EDC values.
- Strong experience with Windows endpoints, device lifecycle management, endpoint security, and enterprise mobility.
- Proven experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks (incident, problem, change, and service ownership).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage external vendors or managed services.
- Ability to set a clear direction and deliver results, translating strategy into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for service delivery, outcomes, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders, including senior executives and cross-functional partners.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making using analytics to enhance outcomes.
- Proficiency in both of Canada’s official languages (English and French).
