Job Summary

The Specialist, Government Contracts is responsible for the strategic development and administration of contracts with State and/or Federal governments. These contracts support Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, and other government-sponsored programs focused on providing healthcare services to low income, uninsured, and other populations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Maintenance of state correspondence and regulatory databases.
  • Communication of deliverables between staff and governmental agencies.
  • Review and maintenance of policies, procedures and contracts.
  • Calendar and database management for regulatory filings and approvals.
  • Responding to governmental inquiries regarding plan issues and requirements.
  • Collaborating with other departments to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Conducting research on government programs and state requirements.
  • Maintaining the Government Contracts SharePoint site for accessibility of documents.

Job Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in a managed care environment, preferably in Medicaid, with compliance related experience and at least 1 year in Medicare preferred.
