About the Role

ExecutivePlacements.com is seeking a Solutions Architect to provide remote support to NATO-ACT. This role involves providing architectural leadership for innovative digital products in NATO or National defense institutions, ensuring that solutions meet mission requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee design and integration of modern software and hardware architectures ensuring scalability and resilience.
  • Provide architectural mentorship to development teams for consistent design practices.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify optimal technology approaches including Agile and DevSecOps practices.
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including risk assessments and trade-off analyses.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and guide their appropriate adoption to enhance mission relevance.
  • Advise on Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions for secure, federated access.
  • Promote adoption of architectural modeling standards such as UML, ArchiMate, and BPMN using tools like Enterprise Architect and ARIS.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Citizenship of a NATO member country.
  • Active NATO or National Secret (or higher) clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in software and/or hardware architecture.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring on architectural principles.
  • Familiarity with Agile DevSecOps teams and CI/CD practices.
  • Proficiency in modern IAM solution patterns.
  • Experience with architectural modeling standards (UML, ArchiMate, BPMN) and related tools.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
