Position Overview
The Strategic Pharmacy Consultant is a key member of the Valued Pharmacy Services (VPS) account team, supporting brokers and ensuring a positive client relationship after account acquisition. The role includes advising clients on Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) fundamentals, clinical opportunities, emerging trends, and best practices, as well as educating internal staff to boost VPS market share.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships between clients and internal/external partners.
- Provide clinical insights and recommendations to clients and brokers.
- Present and explain quotes, contracts, benefits, and rates.
- Manage benefit implementations and related documentation using Zoho CRM.
- Serve as a subject matter expert at conferences and webinars.
- Resolve service issues between clients, brokers, and PBM partners.
- Prepare reports and maintain up-to-date account information.
- Meet or exceed departmental goals while keeping industry knowledge current.
Minimum Requirements
Licensed pharmacist in any state, preferably a PharmD, with at least 3 years' experience in clinical consulting and analysis in the PBM or Health System arena.
Qualifications & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the Employee Benefits industry and PBM.
- Expertise in pharmaceutical clinical review practices.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
Travel & Physical Demands
Requires 10-20% travel with occasional overnight trips. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and work at a desk with computer equipment is required.
