Overview

VetsEZ is seeking a Data Modeler to support enterprise architecture and data syndication activities for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data models that streamline the VA's modernization of healthcare data systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement logical and physical data models.
• Create and maintain dimensional and relational models for healthcare data.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Develop metadata definitions, data dictionaries, ERDs, and mappings.
• Evaluate and recommend data modeling and cataloging tools.
• Participate in data governance and adhere to federal standards.
• Document architecture design artifacts and support data lineage tracking.
• Contribute to the development of best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 5+ years of data modeling experience. Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin or ER/Studio, strong relational database knowledge, and clear documentation skills are essential. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance required.

Additional Qualifications

Experience in healthcare data systems, familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse), Agile or SAFe environments, and certifications like CDMP or DAMA are preferred.
