Overview
The DPT Curriculum Director provides discipline-specific leadership and ownership for EIM’s curricula and Learning Object Repository (LOR) resources in support of University Partner (UP) programs. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of EIM-owned curricular assets across the full curriculum lifecycle.
The DPT Curriculum Director serves as the primary steward and custodian of discipline-specific curricula and LOR content, ensuring academic quality, coherence, accreditation alignment, and instructional effectiveness. The role works in close partnership with University Partner program leadership and faculty, as well as with internal EIM teams—including Academic Affairs, Accreditation & Assessment, and Learning Design & Technology—to translate academic priorities into scalable, high-quality curriculum solutions. Through cross-functional collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and active engagement with academic stakeholders, the DPT Curriculum Director supports consistent curriculum implementation, continuous improvement, and innovation in hybrid and distance education while contributing to EIM’s broader academic mission and thought leadership.

Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following)
Curriculum Ownership & Stewardship
Serve as the owner and ultimate custodian of EIM’s discipline-specific curricula and Learning Object Repository (LOR) assets. Maintain accountability for curriculum quality, coherence, accuracy, and instructional integrity across all EIM-supported programs within the discipline. Ensure curricula reflect current professional standards, evidence-based practice, and evolving educational expectations. Establish and uphold discipline-specific curriculum standards and documentation to support consistency, scalability, and transparency.
Curriculum Development, Revision & SME Management
Lead and oversee the development, revision, and maintenance of discipline-specific curricular assets, including course frameworks, learning activities, assessments, and supporting resources. Identify, recruit, direct and manage Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to engage in curriculum build and revision processes to ensure alignment with learning objectives, instructional intent, accreditation expectations, and EIM quality standards. Provide clear guidance, feedback, and quality oversight to SMEs to ensure content accuracy, consistency, and instructional effectiveness. Coordinate curriculum build and revision efforts with internal EIM teams to support efficient execution and timely delivery.
Curriculum Implementation & Cross-Functional Integration
Partner with University Partner program leadership and faculty to promote and support the effective implementation of EIM curricula across programs and cohorts. Collaborate with internal EIM teams (Academic Affairs, Accreditation & Assessment, and Learning Design & Technology) to ensure curriculum priorities are translated into executable development and delivery workflows. Support alignment between curriculum design, instructional delivery models, assessment practices, and academic calendars. Address implementation challenges proactively to promote consistent, high-quality curriculum use.
Curriculum Assessment, Performance & Continuous Improvement
Establish and oversee discipline-level curriculum assessment processes to evaluate effectiveness, coherence, and alignment with student learning outcomes. Leverage curriculum utilization, engagement, and performance data to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Lead structured curriculum review cycles and prioritize updates or revisions based on evidence, outcomes, and strategic needs. Document curriculum changes and rationale to support continuity, accountability, and accreditation readiness.
Academic Quality, Accreditation Alignment & Risk Management
Ensure discipline-specific curricula and LOR assets remain aligned with CAA accreditation standards, professional competencies, and institutional expectations. Integrate accreditation considerations into curriculum design, documentation, and revision processes rather than treating them as standalone activities. Support Academic Affairs and Accreditation & Assessment teams with curriculum mapping, documentation, and responses related to accreditation reviews or reporting cycles. Proactively identify and mitigate curriculum-related risks that may impact academic quality or compliance.
Faculty Collaboration, Scholarship & Thought Leadership
Collaborate with University Partner faculty and internal Academic Affairs and Learning Design Technology teams to support curriculum understanding, alignment, and effective instructional use. Coordinate with the Faculty Success team to inform faculty development offerings based on curriculum needs, performance trends, and instructional challenges. Contribute to EIM’s thought leadership and scholarly initiatives related to curriculum design, hybrid delivery models, and learning performance. Participate in research, publications, presentations, or professional forums that advance EIM’s academic profile in distance and hybrid healthcare education.
Qualifications
Key Qualifications
- Physical Therapy Degree (PT, DPT)
- Doctoral degree (PhD or EdD)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
- Experience working with hybrid or distance education models.
- Demonstrated experience leading curriculum development, revision, or assessment initiatives at the program or discipline level.
- Strong understanding of accreditation expectations and their application to curriculum design and documentation.
- Proven ability to collaborate across academic, instructional design, and operational teams.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with learning analytics, curriculum quality frameworks, or OPM-supported academic environments.
- Demonstrated commitment to innovation, access, and quality in healthcare education.
