The Role of an Engineering Manager at Everseen

Everseen is a leader in vision AI solutions, serving the world's leading retailers. As an Engineering Manager in the ML Operations department, you will lead a team responsible for extending the capabilities of Everseen's scalable ML Ops infrastructure. This platform empowers data scientists and machine learning engineers to efficiently develop, train, benchmark, and monitor machine learning models. Your instrumental role will focus on enhancing the internal Machine Learning Platform and driving automation, reproducibility, and performance across the entire machine learning lifecycle.

What You'll Do

Leadership

• Manage and lead a team, overseeing their day-to-day operations and projects.
• Take overall responsibility for team projects and act as a point of escalation.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategic goals for your team and measure performance against these goals.
• Monitor and support team members' career paths, evaluate performance, and propose promotions.
• Assess and propose headcount adjustments based on project roadmaps and team capacity.

Teaching and Sharing Culture

• Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the engineering team.
• Organize training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to facilitate skill and knowledge transfer.

Design and Development

• Coordinate and drive progress with cross-functional teams in designing and developing new features.
• Ensure that developed solutions meet project objectives and enhance user experience.

Coding

• Ensure the design and implementation of reusable, testable, efficient, and elegant code, adhering to coding standards and best practices, aligning with long-term product strategy.

Integration of Third-Party Solutions

• Ensure the evaluation, integration, and maintenance of third-party software solutions to optimize system performance and expand product capabilities.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting

• Ensure seamless operation and timely resolution of anomalies to maintain system reliability.

Documentation

• Responsible for ensuring documentation is clear, comprehensive, and up-to-date, overseeing its creation, maintenance, and adherence to organizational standards.

Profile And Skills

Everseen is seeking candidates with a strong background in ML infrastructure, MLOps, or Platform Engineering, coupled with significant leadership experience. The ideal candidate will possess inspirational leadership qualities, a strategic vision, and a culture-shaping approach.

• 5+ years of experience in ML infrastructure, MLOps, or Platform Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in leadership roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python / Go.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
• Understanding of ML training pipelines, data lifecycle, and model serving concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Kubeflow, Ray, Vertex AI, Azure ML).
• Proven ability to monitor and optimize cloud costs.
• Good understanding of data privacy, RBAC, and model governance.

Additional Skills

• Experience in Microsoft Azure or Google GCP cloud infrastructure and Machine Learning tools.
• Experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with GPU orchestration (e.g., NVIDIA GPU Operator, MIG).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Knowledge of data engineering tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Airbyte, Kafka).
• Familiarity with feature stores and model registries.
• Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and performance optimization.
