Job Description

About Evernote & Bending Spoons

Evernote, now part of Bending Spoons, is a leading note-taking and organization platform used by millions. We are a portfolio of digital businesses focused on innovation and operational excellence. By joining Evernote, you become part of the broader Bending Spoons team, contributing to innovative products within a high-performing, collaborative environment. Our mission is to build one of the all-time great companies, focused on customer value, team member growth, operational effectiveness, and shareholder value, all while upholding high ethical standards.

What You'll Do

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will build impactful systems used by millions, taking ownership from idea to production. You will leverage AI to enhance your development workflow, integrating cutting-edge tools for design, implementation, testing, and documentation. You will master a diverse tech stack, working with technologies ranging from monoliths to microservices, gRPC to REST, Kubernetes to Docker, and languages like Python and Rust, choosing the right tools for each challenge. A key aspect of your role will be to relentlessly simplify complexity, improving architectures, pipelines, and codebases to build more scalable and maintainable systems.

What We Look For

  • Reasoning Ability: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think from first principles, sharp idea structuring, bias resistance, and attention to detail.
  • Drive: Extreme ambition, initiative, effort, tenacity, and a deep sense of responsibility for your work, holding yourself to a high and rising standard.
  • Team Spirit: Generosity, support for the best idea, willingness to assist teammates, reliability, honesty, and transparency.
  • English Proficiency: Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

What We Offer

  • Talented Teams: Work in small, autonomous, result-oriented teams with exceptionally bright individuals.
  • Growth Opportunities: Significant potential for career advancement, with opportunities to lead products and major projects early in your career.
  • Competitive Compensation: Competitive pay and access to equity, with potential for significant salary growth based on experience and contributions. Includes a 50% tax cut if relocating to Italy.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Flexible hours, remote working options, unlimited learning and training support, top-tier health insurance, relocation package, generous parental support, and an annual company retreat.
  • Flexible Start: Flexible start dates and part-time options available, including the possibility to start before graduation.

Commitment & Contract

Permanent or fixed-term. Full-time.

Location

Milan (Italy), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Warsaw (Poland) or remote in selected countries.

The Selection Process

We focus on verifiable signals of excellence. Don't self-reject if you feel you lack experience. The process involves challenging tests that may take several hours. We maintain high standards and extend offers only to the right candidates. Jobs may remain open for extended periods or be reposted.

Before You Apply

If you've applied before without an offer, consider waiting at least one year. Bending Spoons is a demanding environment requiring significant commitment, but offers extraordinary learning and career growth.
