We are seeking a skilled, platform-native video creator passionate about short-form storytelling. The ideal candidate is someone who constantly experiments, understands what captures attention online, and can transform concepts into engaging, high-performing content.

You will collaborate directly with the founder, a Columbia Business School MBA with a proven track record, who is launching an ambitious new consumer brand. This is more than a standard editing position; you will play a key role in defining the brand's online presence. Future growth opportunities may include involvement in a creator/media business (MCN-style platform), focusing on scaling brands and creators through content, marketing, and audience development.

What You’ll Do

• Translate ideas, scripts, and references into compelling visual stories optimized for TikTok, Reels, and other short-form platforms.
• Manage the entire video content creation process: asset sourcing, editing, captioning, sound selection, pacing, and final delivery.
• Produce polished, high-quality videos utilizing stock footage, online media, AI-generated assets, or mixed-media formats.
• Apply a strong point of view on hooks, pacing, retention strategies, structure, and elements that make content watchable, shareable, and high-performing.
• Maintain deep awareness of platform behaviors, current trends, popular sounds, memes, and evolving short-form video formats.
• Produce content efficiently: iterate rapidly, test new formats, and meet the demands of social media.
• Experiment with emerging creative tools, including AI content generation, trend-based formats, and new storytelling techniques.
• Assist in developing repeatable content systems and templates to support scalable weekly production.
• Provide creative input and innovative ideas when applicable.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong intuition for TikTok and short-form platform-native content.
• Deep understanding of video editing principles, pacing, hooks, storytelling, and audience retention.
• Proven ability to translate concepts into engaging video content.
• Proficiency in editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with AI video content generation tools or a strong willingness to experiment with them.
• Excellent visual taste and an understanding of current social media aesthetics.
• Ability to work quickly, reliably, and with strong organization and attention to detail.
• Must be NYC-based.
• Interest in women's brands, fashion, or wellness is a plus.
• Personal understanding of issues like thigh chafing, body changes, or comfort-focused apparel needs is preferred but not required.

Schedule

• 10–20 hours per week.
• Hybrid work arrangement: mix of remote work and occasional in-person sessions in NYC.
• Flexible schedule, ideal for students or freelancers.
