Junior/Mid AI Legal Specialist - Full Remote (Spain)

About Our Team

The Role: AI Legal Specialist
We are seeking a motivated AI Legal Specialist to join our Compliance Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of AI and e-commerce regulation. You will work closely with our Ethics and Compliance Officer (ECO), Maxwelle Sokol, owning legal and compliance workflows and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee compliance with global laws relevant to AI and e-commerce platforms.
- Manage contracts and assessments required by data protection laws, including GDPR (DPAs, TIAs).
- Prepare and maintain essential compliance documentation for data protection, AI governance, consumer rights, and other relevant areas.
- Maintain EverAI’s AI systems inventory in accordance with EU guidelines.
- Conduct risk assessments under applicable safety laws.
- Perform product and feature reviews to ensure compliance with consumer rights and data protection regulations.
- Handle day-to-day compliance tasks, including standard IP issues (DMCA notices, copycats), contract reviews (NDAs, licenses), and updating legal terms (TOS, Privacy Notices, content policies).
- Track, research, and analyze legal developments impacting EverAI.
- Receive guidance and engage in regular check-ins with our Ethics & Compliance Officer for clarification, recommendation development, and insights sharing.
- Note: This role involves exposure to uncensored AI-generated content, including NSFW material. Applicants must be comfortable with this aspect.
Your Qualifications
- Hard Skills: Legal education (Masters of Law, JD, or equivalent); 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel, with at least 2 years focused on contracts and data protection law (familiarity with DPAs, TIAs, vendor contracts). Interest in AI.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills; fluency in English; goal-oriented with a strong sense of ownership; a doer mindset; humble and open to feedback; comfortable reviewing and discussing NSFW content.
- Bonus Points: Full attorney certification; previous experience in AI compliance; fluency in additional languages.
