EIB Trainee - Legal Directorate - Coordination Division

The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Legal Directorate (JU) - Coordination Division (COORD) at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Traineeship Details
- Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October)
- Possible Extension: Up to 6 months if required by University
Eligibility Criteria:
- Only applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as citizens from countries that have been officially granted candidate status to join the EU (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine) can be considered.
- Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered.
- Applicants are requested to limit their applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications. Only the first three applications submitted will be considered and retained.
Objective of the Traineeship
You will join the European Investment Bank within the Legal Directorate. This traineeship offers hands‑on exposure to legal work linked to digital and process‑improvement initiatives, including the use of newly implemented digital and AI‑supported tools. You will be assigned to specific projects with defined deliverables, under the supervision of experienced legal professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing communication materials for digital transformation initiatives (newsletters, release notes, onboarding packs) under the supervision of the manager.
- Assist in organizing and delivering training sessions for legal teams on new tools or features under the supervision of the manager.
- Help design learning paths for new joiners or for teams adopting new legal digital tools.
- Help gather user feedback and contribute to change impact assessments.
- Develop multimedia learning materials such as short video tutorials, interactive presentations, or step by step walkthroughs under the supervision of the change manager.
- Assist in updating the legal content repository, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with the directorate’s digital transformation goals.
Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills
- Final year of studies or University degree in Law (commercial, financial, administrative, or EU law).
- Strong interest in digitalization, process improvement, or legal innovation.
- Ability to work in a structured way, collaborate in a team, and adapt to change.
- Very good command of Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English and/or French; Knowledge of another EU language is an asset.
