Overview of the DataOps Automation Intern Role at ETS

This DataOps Automation Intern position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to ETS's mission by designing and developing an AI-powered chatbot. This chatbot will significantly enhance the efficiency of DataOps engineers by assisting with pipeline-related queries, troubleshooting tasks, and providing real-time insights through integration with orchestration tools. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in creating a robust knowledge base and delivering prototypes that directly improve operational efficiency and engineer productivity within a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build an AI-powered chatbot designed to answer pipeline queries and facilitate troubleshooting for DataOps engineers.
  • Integrate the developed chatbot with at least one critical DataOps orchestration tool, such as Apache Airflow or AWS Glue.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge base to support frequently asked questions and metadata queries, ensuring data accessibility.
  • Create compelling demonstrations and detailed documentation to effectively showcase the chatbot's capabilities and impact.
  • Collaborate with the team on presenting project outcomes and strategic recommendations to ETS leadership.

Program Details

This is a paid, 8-week internship program scheduled to commence in early June 2026. Successful candidates must be eligible to work remotely within the United States, offering flexibility and exposure to a broad professional network. This career-defining experience connects interns with leadership, enhances strategic skills, and provides invaluable exposure to ETS's operations.

Required Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate academic program.
  • Proficiency in essential MS Office business applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, coupled with the ability to effectively manage conflicting deadlines.
  • Possess critical analysis capabilities, adept at processing high volumes of information, adapting to changing demands, and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership of projects and consistently driving results.
  • Effective presentation skills; strong analytical and evaluation skillset; ability to process ambiguous data and synthesize value metrics; comfort with uncertainty.
