About the Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist (Casual/PRN) Role

This role supports routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries. Candidates will perform tests of all complexity levels as defined by CLIA on patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and report tests of varying complexity.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality control monitoring.
• Conduct instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Process specimens and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Provide technical consultation and customer service.

Qualifications

For Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): Graduate with an associate degree or meet CLIA guidelines. Certification (ASCP or equivalent) is required within one year of hire. Must obtain current or provisional license through the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice within 45 days for North Dakota sites and Moorhead, MN.

For Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS): Graduate with a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or be a certified MLT (ASCP) with additional clinical hours and two years of experience. Certification as an MLS (ASCP) is required within one year of hire and similar licensing requirements apply.

Work Schedule & Environment

Shift rotation includes day, evening, and night rotations. There is no call obligation, and the role does not require weekend or holiday availability. A potential opportunity for remote/hybrid work exists.
