Overview

ArcGIS Pro is a powerful geographic information system (GIS) software used to analyze, visualize, and share spatial data, solving real-world problems. As a Product Engineer II - ArcGIS Pro Application Framework at Esri, you will help define and build the application framework for ArcGIS Pro including customizing the application, managing keyboard shortcuts, UI tweaks, and ensuring extensibility via third-party developer code.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality for GIS user and developer experience through testing software functions, user interfaces, workflows, and APIs.
  • Program automated test code and analyze the results.
  • Report on software quality and stability.
  • Verify code changes, bug fixes, and perform stress tests.
  • Assist in team organization and prioritization for customer benefit.
  • Troubleshoot production issues on current and past software versions.
  • Research customer requests and industry standards to define software needs.
  • Author and share code samples, tutorials, blogs, videos, and documentation.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hands-on GIS experience and solid coding skills in languages such as C#, C, C++, Rust, Python, Java, or JavaScript. Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to organize work effectively while collaborating with product engineers and developers.

Recommended Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree is a plus. Familiarity with the Esri ArcGIS platform, ArcGIS Pro SDK for Microsoft .NET, and experience in software testing and agile methodologies is highly desirable.
