About the role
Operations Producer II - Remote Television Production
The Operations Producer manages the execution of the operational, technical, and logistical aspects of remote based sports television productions. You will interpret, implement, and manage departmental standards for remote television broadcasts, impacting accuracy, cost, and timeliness of assigned events. This role involves leading and coordinating event preparation and on-site oversight of all remote broadcasts from start to finish, in collaboration with Operations Management and Production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operational and technical aspects of assigned remote events.
- Provide guidance and training to Remote Operations staff.
- Ensure adherence to ESPN Workplace Conduct and Safety Policies on-site.
- Meet timelines for technical and financial planning.
- Create and manage event-specific paperwork, including surveys, tech books, and post reports.
- Troubleshoot complex technical, operational, and personnel issues.
- Oversee on-site crew activities, including time entry, travel, and overtime approval.
- Address performance issues with crew on-site as necessary.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of current and future broadcast standards.
- Attend industry events as assigned.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new technologies for remote events.
Required Qualifications:
- Regular travel to remote and international events is required.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on sports schedules.
- Knowledge of organization, procurement, financial, and logistics planning for show creation.
- Working knowledge of production models, signal flow, scalability, and transmission.
- Familiarity with developments in equipment technology and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong knowledge of technical equipment for ESPN’s remote operations.
- Administer proper hiring and payment policies.
- Operate within the defined goals of the Remote Operations department.

Additional Information:
Position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The hiring range for this remote position is $97,600 to $147,620 per year. Compensation may vary based on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided, along with a full range of benefits.
