About the role
Operations Resource Planning Engineer
European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) is establishing a state-of-the-art semiconductor fab in Dresden, Germany, as a joint venture between TSMC, Bosch, Infineon, and NXP. We are seeking a motivated and passionate Operations Resource Planning Engineer to build the foundation of our future fab.
About the Role
This role operates at the intersection of production, supply chain, and operations, ensuring manufacturing runs according to plan. You will leverage data to understand capacity, identify bottlenecks, and support decision-making in a complex production environment. You will work closely with production teams, coordinating resources, monitoring performance, and improving processes. This position requires a deep understanding of production systems and the ability to translate data into actionable planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Production & Capacity Planning: Analyze production data to understand capacity, identify bottlenecks, and support stable and efficient production flow.
- Drive Data-Based Decision Making: Monitor and interpret key operational KPIs (e.g. WIP, cycle time, tool performance) to identify improvement opportunities and support planning decisions.
- Coordinate Across Functions: Act as an interface between production, procurement, and logistics to align resource availability with production requirements.
- Ensure Resource Availability for Production: Track the status of critical tools and materials to support production ramp-up and ongoing operations.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI): Integrate pilot lots and new technologies into production planning while maintaining operational stability.
- Contribute to Layout & Process Optimization: Support FAB layout planning (AutoCAD) and contribute to improving processes for better resource utilization.
Job Qualifications
- Educational Background: Degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability and interest to work with data, identify patterns, and derive structured conclusions in a production environment.
- Data Handling Skills: First experience or strong interest in tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL, or Power BI is an advantage.
- Operations Experience: Initial exposure (e.g. internships, projects, thesis) to manufacturing, operations, or process-driven environments is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and in a structured, data-driven way with cross-functional teams in an international environment.
- Mindset & Working Style: Hands-on, proactive, willing to take ownership in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Ability to adapt priorities and work on multiple topics in parallel.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent English is required; German is a plus.
- Training: Willingness to complete a mandatory training program of min. 5-6 months in Taiwan.
- Work Permit: Applicants must have a valid work permit for Germany at the time of application.
