Technical Support Specialist

Build the Future with Us — EquipmentShare is hiring a Technical Support Specialist to join our team. This role is instrumental in providing 24x7x365 support for EquipmentShare's heavy equipment and tooling rental fleet. Although based at our Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO, this position is fully remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide remote technical support via phone, Slack, and online applications.
  • Utilize data from field technicians, diagnostic tools, schematics, and manuals.
  • Partner with product teams and OEMs for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Offer occasional on-site support to Service Technicians and customers.
  • Mentor new team members and contribute to foundational process development.
  • Maintain professional relationships across internal departments and markets.

You are passionate about helping others, possess technical expertise in heavy equipment, and excel in problem solving. You see challenges as opportunities and embody energy, grit, and humility.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Expertise in the operation, maintenance, and diagnostics of heavy equipment.
  • Specialized knowledge in engine/powertrain, hydraulics, electrical, or mechanical systems.
  • Strong safety practices and familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot using manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with G-Suite applications.
  • Willingness to travel minimally as needed.

This is an inaugural role where you will help form the new Technical Support team by setting up procedures and demonstrating subject matter expertise.
