The Role of a Technical Integration Manager
The Technical Integration Manager at EP Wealth Advisors is entrusted with the critical responsibility of overseeing the firm’s technology integration processes, specifically for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. This pivotal role leads the technology workstream from inception to completion, encompassing IT due diligence, ensuring Day 1 readiness, and managing post-close technology integration activities.
Working in close collaboration with Partnership Integration, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and Business leaders, the Technical Integration Manager ensures that all technology integrations are executed with the highest standards of security and efficiency. This role is instrumental in aligning integration efforts with EP Wealth’s partnership model, rigorous governance standards, and unwavering commitment to an advisor-first experience.
What You’ll Do
M&A Technology Leadership
- Lead the technology integration workstream for multiple concurrent transactions, from diligence through post-close execution.
- Act as the senior technology point of contact for transaction-related activities, providing expert advice on complexity, cost, and timing.
- Translate intricate technical findings into clear, executive-ready insights to inform and support critical integration decisions.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional integration work sessions with internal teams, external partners, and vendors, ensuring alignment, sharing key project information, and communicating progress against milestones and deliverables.
- Collaborate on continuous improvements to scale team capabilities, tools, and processes, supporting EP Wealth’s sustained growth through strategic partnerships.
IT Due Diligence & Integration Execution
- Lead comprehensive IT due diligence activities, including system reviews, managing documentation requests, and engaging Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Collaborate on thorough assessments of acquired firms’ technology environments, cybersecurity posture, data architecture, and vendor landscape.
- Manage Day 1 technology readiness planning, covering access provisioning, data considerations, vendor coordination, and platform transitions.
- Oversee post-close integration activities such as system migrations, data transfers, application rationalization, and the decommissioning of legacy systems and technology services.
- Provide regular status updates, conduct rigorous risk assessments, and deliver comprehensive integration progress reports to senior leadership.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with acquired firms and internal stakeholders, ensuring a seamless and successful partnership transition.
Process & Platform Maturity
- Own and continuously evolve EP Wealth’s M&A technology integration playbooks, templates, and best practices.
- Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across all integration efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of extensive experience leading technology projects, integrations, or complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an M&A, integration, consulting, or transformation environment.
- Direct hands-on experience supporting technology due diligence and post-close integration specifically for acquisitions or partnerships.
- A background in wealth management, financial services, fintech, or other regulated environments is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of diverse IT environments, including applications, infrastructure, data migration, cybersecurity, and vendor management.
- Ability to accurately assess integration risk, scalability, and operational impact within a deal context.
- Strong executive presence coupled with the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and confidently to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated high level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential and transaction-sensitive information.
- Bachelor’s degree required; PMP, Agile, or relevant technology certifications are a significant plus.
