The Opportunity

Onfido, an Entrust company, is actively seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to address complex digital identity and fraud challenges for customers across the AMER region. In this crucial customer-facing role, you will partner closely with Sales to understand customer needs, design intuitive identity verification experiences, and guide prospects through trials, proofs of concept, and technical validations. You will be a key representative of the Entrust Identity platform across diverse and rapidly growing sectors, including FinTech, financial services, payments, workforce verification, and emerging use cases like Know Your Employee (KYE). This position involves engaging with C-level executives, product teams, architects, and developers to demonstrate how our identity and authentication capabilities facilitate secure and seamless user journeys throughout the Americas.

This is a hands-on role that demands a blend of problem-solving, technical design expertise, deep product knowledge, and excellent communication. You will collaborate extensively with teammates across the US, Canada, and other AMER markets, as well as with Product, Customer Success, and Onboarding teams within Entrust and EMEA. How You Will Make An Impact

  • Partner with Sales to accurately diagnose customer challenges related to KYC, KYE, fraud mitigation, and identity workflows, subsequently proposing optimal solutions leveraging our platform.
  • Guide customers through the design of user experiences incorporating Entrust Identity, assisting them in running trials and integrating our API or SDK into their backend and mobile applications.
  • Provide expert technical and industry insights to support RFPs and RFIs.
  • Lead the technical workstream for trials, including defining clear success criteria and assisting customers in validating the solution through robust test plans and data flows.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product team, providing valuable insights from the AMER market and customers, offering feedback on new features, and supporting the adoption of recently released capabilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the latest product enhancements, features, and use cases, and disseminate this knowledge across the AMER Solutions Engineering team and broader Go-to-Market team to ensure regional alignment and consistency.
  • Contribute to global best practices by collaborating with regional Solutions Engineering peers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
  • Develop compelling demos, industry-specific presentations, and tailored example integrations to meet customer requirements.
  • Represent Onfido and Entrust Identity at industry events, conferences, and webinars.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Pre-sales, Sales Engineer, or Solutions Engineer, or equivalent experience in Product Management with significant customer interaction.
  • Practical programming experience with at least one language such as Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, or Swift.
  • Clear understanding of RESTful APIs and modern integration patterns.
  • Ability to effectively guide developers and technical teams through API and SDK integration processes.
  • Strong sense of ownership and curiosity, with a proactive ability to take initiative and advance deals.
  • Experience working directly with Sales while collaborating cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product, and Go-to-Market teams.
  • Experience within cloud or SaaS companies.
  • Fluent in English.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with identity verification, identity and access management, CIAM, or fraud prevention technologies.
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, cybersecurity, regtech, payments, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of security principles and data protection regulations.
  • Experience working with customers across multiple countries within a region.

Location and Travel

This role is based in the United States or Canada, ideally situated within the Central or Eastern time zone, supporting customers across the AMER region. Occasional travel within the region may be necessary for customer meetings, workshops, and industry events.
