Role Overview: CNC Machinist

Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the CNC Machinist fabricates precision-machined parts by setting up and operating CNC and manual mills and lathes in Simsbury, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Complete tool, fixture, and material setup on CNC mills and lathes.
  • Run first piece article ready for inspection.
  • Verify parts with precision measuring equipment.
  • Change tools and offsets based on cutting conditions.
  • Use proper feed, speed, and cutting parameters for various metals.
  • Adhere to production and quality standards.
  • Perform additional machining duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in CNC operations and setup.
  • Experience running 5 axis machinery.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to comply with ITAR and BATFE background requirements.
