The Opportunity
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer works assignments involving moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.Essential Job Functions
- Ability to manage big data and creating solutions for reporting requirements provided by stakeholders.
- Problem solving and completing root cause analysis on production bugs.
- Following standard SDLC process and agile practices within a team.
- Develop internal and external partnerships to provide opportunity for efficient solutions to various data, system and application uses.
- Serves as a technical resource and mentor to other developers / Engineers and aids in trouble shooting and resolving issues.
- Actively review new bugs reported and complete grooming and sprint planning.
- Complete bug root cause analysis and work with other teams as needed to resolve issues and completes documentation and notification to the bug reporter at least twice per week.
- Subject matter expert (SME) of report data modeling as well as being knowledgeable about what each field is used for and is able to determine appropriate uses of data fields to create reporting.
- Advanced knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, Visual Studio, etc.
- Has advanced programming and optimizing skills in DAX, Dax Studio, Performance Analyzer, Vertipaq, SQL and M Languages.
- Collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy through Power BI report development.
- Responsible for the data mining, manipulation and delivery to key stakeholders and executives in accordance with priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to form key relationships with and deliver professional, customer focused service to key stakeholders and executives.
- Leads the evaluation of what current and future data needs are and translates needs to stakeholders and product owners to support all lines of business.
- Leads high level discussions with a focus on making recommendation and identifying how data can support key business decisions.
- Identifies report requirements and determine how the desired results can be achieved.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining strategic reports out of multiple databases and systems.
- Completing systems validation for client data which identifies discrepancies in data totals or PK’s.
- Works with team members as mentor and provides opportunities of open collaboration to problem solve or optimize reports.
- Practical application experience with Dax Studio and Performance Analyzer and can optimize reporting based on analysis findings.
- Completing code review / peer review of completed work by co-developers and providing feedback identifying issues or required report updates to meet the requirements ahead of the report moving to UAT.
- Presenting and/or publishing completed reports in accordance with publishing guidelines.
Required Experience
- 3-5 years experience with relational databases and advanced T-SQL Experience – must have the ability to write complex, highly-optimized queries for data cleansing across large volumes of data.
- 3-5 years experience developing Power BI reports (with M, SQL, DAX language proficiency).
- 5+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience required.
- 1+ years of knowledge and/or experience with ETL and Azure data warehouse concepts and processes (Experience with Azure Databricks is a plus.).
- Building and maintaining API’s.
- Advanced Vertipaq, Dax Studio, Tabular editor experience.
- Advanced SQL concepts and validation review between data source and report output.
- Power Apps integration.
- Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem solving, analytical, judgment, and research skills.
- Ability to own and resolve problems.
- Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
- This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
- This position pays between $91,400 - $175,200 based on experience.
