Position Description

ENSCO's National Security Solutions (NSS) Division is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support innovative research and development for U.S. Government agencies. This role focuses on developing web-based applications for CBRNE threat detection, managing large data streams, modeling and simulation, data visualization, and creating web-based user interfaces. You will work under the guidance of a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to software integration, maintenance, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement software solutions.
  • Ingest and manage large data streams.
  • Develop web-based applications and user interfaces.
  • Support software integration and maintenance tasks.
  • Create technical documentation as required.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of programming experience with Java, Python, or similar.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Git version control.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and web full-stack frameworks (e.g., Vue, Angular).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications Desired

  • Understanding of AWS cloud programming.
  • Experience with relational/non-relational databases and SQL.
  • Knowledge in data science or predictive modeling.
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with search engine integration (e.g., Solr, Elastic).
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.

Additional Information

This on-site role requires U.S. Citizenship and may involve access to U.S. federal facilities. Applicants must pass a background check covering the past 7 years. ENSCO offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary.
