Job Description
Network Management Engineer - Transmission L2 Support
For our client in the telecommunications infrastructure sector, we are looking for an IP/MPLS Engineer to join the 2nd Line Support (L2) team. The team is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of the packet network, working on tickets escalated from the NOC (L1) as well as requests submitted directly by business customers (B2B).
This role is ideal for professionals who already have operational experience and want to develop further toward more advanced technical responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Handling incidents and service requests at L2 level (escalations from NOC and requests from B2B customers)
- Diagnosing and resolving issues within the IP/MPLS network
- Configuration and reconfiguration of transmission network elements
- Implementing changes in the production environment
- Performing root cause analysis (RCA) and recommending corrective actions
- Cooperating with L1 (NOC) teams and experts / engineering teams
- Working with network devices (Cisco, Nokia)
- Ensuring network stability and service continuity
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with packet networks
- Hands-on experience in configuration and maintenance of IP/MPLS networks
- Knowledge of protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS
- Ability to independently troubleshoot in a production environment
- Experience in incident and change management (operations)
- Knowledge of network equipment (Cisco and/or Nokia)
- English proficiency (technical documentation)
- Willingness to participate in on-call duty rotations
Nice to have:
- Experience in a service provider / telecom environment
- Knowledge of DWDM technology
- Experience with SDN or automation tools (Python, Ansible)
