About the Role
enGen is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join an agile scrum team. You will be instrumental in writing, executing, and analyzing software products to build scalable applications across all digital channels. Your role will ensure a high-quality, customer-centric view of software solutions, contributing to the entire SDLC from idea generation to rigorous testing against industry standards for quality assurance, traceability, and compliance. A key aspect of this role involves developing and executing test automation code for ongoing regression testing and participating in refining CI/CD processes, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineers, product analysts, and stakeholders to understand feature requirements.
- Author comprehensive test case documents, test plans, and test results adhering to SOC2 standards.
- Conduct peer reviews of testing artifacts and create/manipulate necessary test data.
- Mentor junior test engineers, sharing expertise and guidance.
- Contribute to idea generation, suggesting business rules and updating the product backlog.
- Participate in release activities to ensure successful, high-quality product updates and coordinate release night activities.
- Actively engage in all scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning and execution.
- Communicate issues and blockers to the Scrum Master promptly and assist in story creation, including Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria.
- Create and update tasks in RTC or Jira, monitoring progress against production schedules and reporting impediments.
- Develop and execute test automation code using technologies such as Java, Selenium, and Appium, contributing to CI/CD process refinement and code reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field.
- 5 years of experience writing test artifacts adhering to SOC2 standards.
- 1 year of experience developing test automation software following coding best practices.
- 1 year of experience mentoring junior Test Engineers.
- Experience writing test cases or test plans, or conducting peer reviews.
- Proficiency in agile methodology (scrum).
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
- Passion for user experience and usability improvement.
