The Role of Project Management Technology / Data Centers

Arup invites project management professionals to express their interest in supporting the growth of our Technology and Data Centers portfolio in Amsterdam.

Depending on your experience level, you will lead or support the realization of highly complex, business-critical data center projects in a dynamic and fast-changing environment. The role contributes to program coordination, stakeholder management, commercial steering, and technical integration, while building strong project management and client-focused skills.

The position encompasses the full project lifecycle – from early feasibility studies and concept development to design, construction, commissioning, and handover. At a senior level, you will act as the primary point of contact for the client and as a trusted advisor; in earlier career stages, you will make a significant contribution under the guidance of senior colleagues as a core member of the project team.

What You Will Do

• Lead and/or support the end-to-end realization of business-critical data center projects, from feasibility to commissioning and handover.
• Act as, or support, the primary point of contact for the client, providing clear communication, leadership, and technical or commercial input depending on experience.
• Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams, including consultants, contractors, suppliers, and client-side stakeholders.
• Contribute to or drive project governance, risk management, procurement strategies, contracts, cost control, and change management.
• Monitor and support progress against planning, cost, quality, and operational performance objectives.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, tenders, and client relationships within the technology and data center market.
• Collaborate closely with global technology and engineering experts to realize innovative, sustainable, and future-proof solutions.
• Ensure clear, structured, and effective communication with all project stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant postgraduate work experience.
• Completed education in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Strong project leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently within defined tasks and effectively contribute within a broader project team.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder management and client-focused communication.
• Fluent in Dutch and English – mandatory.
• Experience with MS Office, SharePoint, and BIM360 / Revit.
