Job Description

Assistant Project Manager at Gleeds

Gleeds is a leading global property and construction consultancy, proudly independent since 1875. We deliver award-winning projects worldwide and are certified as a Great Place to Work, prioritizing our people.

Gleeds Energy is a high-performing and growing team dedicated to supporting some of the UK's most complex and nationally significant energy programmes. We operate in highly regulated, technically demanding environments across sectors such as nuclear, defence, renewables, and major infrastructure, delivering projects that genuinely shape the country's future.

We are actively seeking an Assistant Project Manager to contribute to the delivery of major projects. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced project leaders, coordinating semi-complex projects and managing multiple simple workstreams. Your efforts will ensure robust performance, clarity, and control throughout all aspects of project delivery.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects in line with established frameworks.
  • Helping manage stakeholder requirements, ensuring clear objectives and acceptance criteria are met.
  • Monitoring project performance, risks, and issues, and actively contributing to lessons learned processes.
  • Working with Project Controls to maintain accurate schedules, baselines, and comprehensive reporting.
  • Assisting with compliance, quality, cost, and schedule management.
  • Helping adapt plans and priorities to effectively meet operational challenges.
  • Contributing to the development of robust project delivery approaches and essential toolsets.
  • Supporting budget, scope, and schedule control across assigned work packages.
  • Assisting with risk mitigation, opportunity identification, and change management, including NEC4 processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree or professional qualification in Project Management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of construction or engineering projects.
  • A solid understanding of core project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Exposure to regulated or complex project environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
  • A proactive, organized approach, coupled with a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
