General Summary
The Claims Services Representative I performs a variety of claim handling functions including new claim set up, non-medical bill payment, and distribution of various forms and correspondence. The role interacts with insureds, claims adjusters, attorneys, and outside vendors to gather, analyze, and document complete and accurate data while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Key functions include:
- Support technical, administrative, and clerical tasks.
- Request and follow up on information from providers, injured employees, and insureds via phone, email, fax, and mail.
- Research and identify requested information accurately.
- Process work assignments timely, adhering to Service Level Agreements.
- Manage electronic mail inboxes for claims and document imaging.
- Handle inbound/outbound calls for pertinent medical and claim information.
- Perform mathematical calculations for appropriate payments.
- Establish professional communications ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and ethical conduct.
- Complete setup of new workers’ compensation claims and distribute claim forms and correspondence.
Requirements
Candidates should have proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), be familiar with general office procedures and equipment, and able to navigate multiple systems. Demonstrated customer service experience and excellent phone and computer etiquette are essential.
Education
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Work Environment
This is a remote position open to candidates located in the United States. A private and quiet workspace is required. Schedules are flexible to accommodate business needs, with occasional travel for meetings.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay rate is $21.00, or $22.00 for bilingual candidates with Spanish skills, plus a comprehensive benefits package. More details can be found on the benefits page.
