Job Summary
Emerson Automation Solutions’ Final Control Organization offers smart technology products to control maintenance costs and enhance the performance and life expectancy of various valves. The solutions are provided through four business verticals: Flow Controls, Pressure Management, Isolation Valves, Actuation Technologies, and FLMC. In the Middle East & Africa (MEA) World Area, Emerson is expanding and announces the opening for an IBT Data Analyst position based in Chennai, India. This role will support the Lifecycle Service (LCS) with Install Base (IB) Data Management tasks to aid in business development, analysis, and reporting. The IBT Data Analyst will report to the Lifecycle Services & Digital Customer Experience Manager, MEA. The role also involves participating in department business process improvements, acquiring knowledge of Business Process Improvement methodologies and techniques. Responsibilities include supporting the MEA IBT team in building, managing, and maintaining Install Base data, generating reports for standard spares, and identifying business opportunities. This position requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with technical documentation, and a proactive approach to data validation and organization.
Responsibilities
- Support the MEA IBT team in managing Install Base data, including collection, collation, validation, and sourcing (e.g., site walkdown data, repair reports, obsolescence mapping, shipment data).
- Perform active database maintenance, updating valve information, modifications, and obsolescence replacement data.
- Ensure data quality through import validation and cleaning practices.
- Monitor team mailboxes for additional data for IB tag and part information.
- Provide support for Standard RSPPL generation and maintain spares databases.
- Collect and analyze repair report data, capturing insights like upgrade recommendations and critical notes.
- Utilize site walkdown tools to capture IB data and facilitate uploading to the tool.
- Transform historical paper-based scanned serials into searchable digital archives (Excel).
- Streamline manual processes by applying automated solutions.
- Generate reports from single or multiple systems and collaborate with other departments.
- Integrate current and future tools to optimize workflows and data management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, PivotTables, data handling).
- Good understanding of Power Query for data transformation and cleaning.
- Strong numerical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Power BI (dashboard building, basic DAX preferable).
- Experience with data validation, data cleansing, and data structuring.
- Familiarity with process flows, data gathering, and continuous improvement principles (BPI).
- Comfortable working with technical data, serials, parts lists, or equipment information (trainable).
- Exposure to Power Apps (advantage but not required).
- Knowledge of Excel Power Query, basic macros, or data automation tools is a plus.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
