AI Content Integration Intern at Emerson

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Preparing and validating KBA source files, ensuring documents adhere to required templates before conversion.
- Converting MS Word KBAs into Markdown, applying project-specific formatting and structural standards.
- Reviewing and editing Markdown and HTML outputs to correct automated conversion issues, ensuring accuracy in headers, lists, tables, images, and code formatting.
- Maintaining high accuracy by aligning converted documents with the original PDF model and cleaning unnecessary syntax.
- Applying logical segmentation (chunking) to break down content while preserving key procedures, steps, and contextual relationships for AI processing.
- Populating grounding headers, ensuring proper vectorization, and preparing documents for seamless ingestion into the AI system.
- Reviewing and refining AI-generated evaluation prompts, adjusting or removing unclear or inaccurate prompts to ensure content reliability.
- Ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality protocols when handling proprietary and sensitive documents.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Communication, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Ability to complete at least 480 internship hours (open to required or voluntary internships).
- Ability to begin the internship around March or April 2026.
- Comfort working with Markdown, including headers, tables, lists, images, and code blocks.
- Ability to break down long technical documents into clear, logical segments that support AI processing.
- Basic familiarity with HTML and CSS, especially when addressing formatting issues for tables and images.
- Experience using MS Word Styles and Templates when resolving source-file formatting inconsistencies.
- Strong attention to detail and a knack for identifying formatting or structural errors.
- Efficiency in managing workloads while maintaining accuracy and high-quality output.
- Flexibility and openness to learning the SMS5 interface and related project tools.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for coordinating with SMEs and reviewing technical content.
- Consistent adherence to confidentiality practices when handling proprietary materials.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience working with Markdown- or HTML-based content.
- Exposure to AI concepts such as chunking, grounding, vectorization, or prompt engineering.
- Experience in technical writing, content migration, or web content management.
- Curiosity about developing solutions using existing tools and structured content processes.
