The Opportunity
Emera Inc is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Accounting Team in Halifax, NS on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Accountant, this role is key to budgeting, forecasting, and the monthly close process for Emera’s corporate entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget, semi-annual forecasts, and long-term forecast.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and detailed account reconciliations and analysis.
- Assist with preparing quarterly and annual external Financial Statements, Notes, and Management Discussion and Analysis.
- Support internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Ensure internal control over financial reporting in accordance with the SOX program.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis and reports as required.
Skills & Competencies
