Food and Nutrition Services Assistant I Overview
As a Food and Nutrition Services Assistant I at Maeola R. Beitzel Elementary School, you will play a crucial role in providing nutritious meals to students and staff. This position involves a variety of tasks related to food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, all while adhering to established health and safety standards. You will contribute to a positive dining experience for students and support the overall operations of the school cafeteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation and serving of appealing and nutritious meals and snacks to students and staff.
- Sets up and restocks serving lines, ensuring proper food presentation and temperature control.
- Operates various kitchen equipment, including ovens, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers, safely and efficiently.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in all food service areas, including kitchen, dining hall, and equipment, in compliance with health codes.
- Washes, stores, and organizes dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Receives, inspects, and properly stores food and supply deliveries.
- Assists with inventory counts and stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Collects meal payments and accurately handles cash transactions.
- Adheres to all district policies and procedures related to food service and safety.
- Interacts positively and professionally with students, staff, and visitors.
