Role Overview
The Associate Director, Automation Engineering - Control System Validation & Data Analytics leads a team of CSV and data engineers at Lilly Medicine Foundry. The role ensures reliable and compliant control systems and data analytics capabilities in manufacturing operations.
Key Objectives/Deliverables
- Provide administrative leadership, including team coaching and performance reviews.
- Oversee CSV work coordination and process validation activities.
- Develop and implement quality documents, SOPs, and validation strategies.
- Manage data analytics capability for site metrics and visualization.
- Ensure GMP compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Lead automation support for capital projects and new product introductions.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication across functions.
Responsibilities
The role involves supervising the process control team, staffing and resource planning, reviewing financial performance, and maintaining validation documentation. It also requires subject matter expertise in computer system validation, data integrity, and automation systems. The Associate Director collaborates on strategic projects, participates in audits, and represents the automation department during regulatory reviews.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering with extensive CSV and data analytics experience.
- 12+ years in Biopharma engineering, operations, or manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in GMP, regulatory requirements, and validation executions.
- Experience with SCADA, DCS, MES, LIMS, Power BI, and related systems.
Locations & Work Environment
Initial assignment is at the Lilly Technology Center in Indianapolis, with a permanent role at the new Lilly Medicines Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana. This position is integral to building and sustaining a compliant, high-performance manufacturing operation.
