Job Description
ESL Teacher / Adult Literacy Instructor at Elevate Recruitment
We are seeking experienced Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, or English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructors to contribute subject matter expertise to AI training initiatives. In this fully remote contract role, you will apply your instructional knowledge to help develop and refine AI systems designed to better understand adult learners, diverse educational pathways, and inclusive teaching practices.
Your real-world classroom experience will play a critical role in shaping AI tools that support literacy development, high school equivalency preparation, workforce readiness, and English language acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate simulated student work to support AI training and model refinement
- Provide expert feedback on lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment strategies
- Analyze AI-generated educational content for pedagogical accuracy, inclusivity, and learner appropriateness
- Contribute authentic adult learning scenarios, including differentiated instruction strategies
- Assist in developing and refining datasets that reflect real-world classroom challenges
- Document insights clearly in written reports and structured annotations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve AI understanding of adult education frameworks
- Promote inclusive and culturally responsive teaching principles within AI training materials
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, TESOL, Adult Education, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience teaching ABE, ASE, and/or ESL in adult learning environments
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory and differentiated instruction
- Experience conducting student assessments and adapting instruction accordingly
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative setting
- Commitment to inclusive and student-centered educational practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in instructional design or curriculum development for adult learners
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms and digital learning tools
- Basic understanding of AI, machine learning, or AI literacy concepts
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (TESOL, CELTA, Adult Education credentials)
