Agricultural Scientist AI Trainer

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Soil and Plant Scientist to join our customer’s team as an AI Trainer. In this remote role, you will use your expertise in soil and plant sciences to guide the development and refinement of AI models in agriculture technology. Your contributions will ensure AI systems reflect real-world agricultural practices, soil management, and crop science research.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, annotate, and validate soil and plant science datasets to ensure scientific accuracy and relevance.
• Provide expert guidance and feedback to AI teams to improve model outputs related to agronomy, plant physiology, and soil management.
• Translate complex scientific research concepts into actionable AI training insights.
• Develop scenarios and use-cases based on crop yield, soil composition, pest control, and plant management for AI learning.
• Identify gaps, errors, or inconsistencies in AI outputs and recommend improvements based on current best practices.
• Collaborate with AI engineers and data scientists to fine-tune algorithms using domain-specific knowledge.
• Stay current with advances in soil and plant sciences and integrate new knowledge into AI model training.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Soil Science, Plant Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience in crop breeding, plant physiology, soil composition analysis, or plant management research.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex scientific concepts clearly.
• Expertise in soil classification, mapping, growth condition studies, and evaluating agricultural practices.
• Familiarity with integrated pest management, crop productivity studies, and field research.
• Rigorous attention to detail for dataset validation and quality control.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience collaborating on interdisciplinary projects or with AI/data science teams.
• Background as an Agronomist, Plant Physiologist, or Research Soil Scientist.
• Knowledge of emerging AI applications in agricultural and plant sciences.
