Overview
The Wellness & Recovery Specialist is a Certified Peer Specialist responsible for care coordination and management focused on the wellness and recovery of members. This role offers maximum flexibility by allowing associates to work virtually full-time with required in-person training sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to engage members and families in recovery.
- Act as a resource for staff decision making and problem solving.
- Initiate and maintain contacts to assess members' responses.
- Teach basic problem-solving strategies to support self-directed recovery.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum AA/AS degree and 2 years of experience in health services, behavioral health, or peer support services is required. Peer Specialist Certification is mandatory.
Preferred Skills & Experiences
- BA/BS degree is preferred.
- At least one year of experience post-certification as a Peer Support Specialist.
- Knowledge of care-coordination and case management concepts.
- Experience with recovery processes and standardized mental health practices.
- Understanding of mental illness signs, substance use disorders, and problem-solving strategies.
