Role Overview
We are hiring a Manager, Player Experience Product (PX) Research to support these titles and lead a global team dedicated to delivering unforgettable, player-first ARPG experiences. Reporting to the Senior Manager of PX Insights, you will ensure strategic player insights are translated into clear, actionable outcomes. This role emphasizes delivering research with the speed, clarity, and quality that development teams need to make confident, timely decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a global PX research team, ensuring excellence in execution and delivery.
- Set high standards for speed and quality of research deliverables, ensuring timely, actionable outputs, and supporting development priorities.
- Translate strategic insights into concrete outcomes, guiding game teams with clear recommendations that shape design, gameplay, and live services.
- Align research efforts with product and development needs, so every deliverable is focused, relevant, and impactful.
- Collaborate closely with game directors, producers, and product leads to integrate player insights seamlessly into development cycles.
- Drive operational discipline in how PX research is scoped, prioritized, and delivered, balancing rigour with efficiency.
- Champion the player perspective by ensuring research outputs consistently elevate game quality and player experience.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Product Management, Psychology, Market Research, Data Science, HCI) or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years in the gaming industry is a must with proven leadership in product, player experience, or user research.
- 4+ years of research management experience, team size 4+, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to align research with business strategy, ensuring insights drive tangible franchise outcomes.
- Strong communicator with experience influencing stakeholders across disciplines and global time zones.
- Deep experience conducting and applying game user research across multiple platforms (console, PC, mobile).
- Strong knowledge of ARPG design, systems, and player motivations.
Compensation and Benefits
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$119,600 - $167,300 CAD
- California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. San Francisco) *$138,400 - $211,700 USD
- Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane) *$129,500 - $171,800 USD
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
