The Challenge Ahead
As an Associate Quality Designer, you are the voice of quality and player experience for one of EA’s AAA sports titles. On our American Football titles, quality isn’t just about finding bugs: it’s about making sure the game feels right.
You will play the game in a structured, analytical way, evaluating how features perform against design intent, realism, and player expectations. You’ll identify issues, call out risks, and suggest improvements to help shape the experience throughout development and Live Services.
In many ways, you are the game’s first real player, representing our audience and helping ensure the final experience lives up to the sport we all love.
What an Associate Quality Designer Does at EA
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Designers, and QA partners to improve quality across the board
- Review designs and provide feedback to help prevent defects before they’re built
- Analyze gameplay, systems, and data to assess quality, balance, and overall fun
- Test gameplay features and content using both structured test cases and exploratory play
- Apply black-box and white-box testing methodologies to identify issues early in development
- Track bugs, risks, and insights clearly and effectively using our internal tools
- Contribute to test plans, reporting, and KPI tracking for your assigned areas
We’re Especially Interested In People Who
- Have a strong passion for American Football (NFL, College Football, Madden, flag football or playing the sport)
- Communicate confidently and clearly in English (written and spoken)
- Can clearly explain why something feels off in a sports experience
- Enjoy breaking down systems, rules, and mechanics to understand how they work
- Are curious, analytical, and eager to learn new tools and processes
- Are passionate about videogames (PC and consoles) and creating good player experiences
- Can articulate results and draw conclusions from analyzing data and trends
- Enjoy working in a collaborative environment as part of a team
If you love videogames and American Football (whether that’s Sundays watching the NFL, playing Madden, or having worn pads yourself) this role might be for you.
Please include a brief cover letter or a short paragraph in your CV to help us understand your connection to the sport and videogames!
