About The Role: Writer/Director, Veritasium

We are seeking a passionate Writer/Director to join our remote digital team. This role is ideal for someone deeply interested in Physics, Maths, or Engineering with a strong general understanding of science, who is proactive, detail-oriented, and strives for excellence.

As a Writer/Director, you will lead the creation of videos from conception to final edit. Your primary responsibility is to craft compelling content that aligns with the Veritasium brand, focusing on high-quality storytelling and scientific accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce exceptional video content and lead your team efficiently.
• Research and propose video ideas related to Physics, Maths, Engineering, and broader scientific topics.
• Source and collaborate with experts for interviews, both on-site and virtually.
• Ensure scientific accuracy and engaging narratives through in-depth research of original sources and scientific papers.
• Integrate new research and discoveries into video scripts.

Skills And Experience

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Physics, Maths, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Excellent research, reading comprehension, and fact-checking abilities.
• Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and tight deadlines.
• Exceptional English written and verbal communication.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to Veritasium's high content quality standards.
• Passion for educating and inspiring audiences about Physics and science.

Desirable Qualifications

• Proven experience in long-form or feature science communication, with knowledge of science YouTube content.
