Electrify Video Partners is seeking a creative and experienced Researcher to join our remote digital video team. This is an opportunity to contribute to a new YouTube channel focused on business, economics, geopolitics, and finance, as part of a well-funded and fast-growing creator economy business. Veritasium, a leading science education YouTube channel with nearly 20 million subscribers, is part of our portfolio, and we aim to build the future of media.

About The Role

As a Researcher for our new social science-focused channel, you will be responsible for identifying and researching engaging topics, finding relevant experts, sourcing locations for site visits, and assisting with video shoots and fact-checking. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for business, economics, geopolitics, and finance, with demonstrable general social science knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Research various topics related to business, economics, geopolitics, and finance, proposing video ideas that appeal to a large audience.
• Stay informed about current issues and trends relevant to the Veritasium audience in these fields.
• Discover intriguing stories and investigate them down to original sources to create unique content.
• Source and collaborate with experts for interviews, both on-site and virtually.
• Ensure accuracy and engaging storytelling by conducting in-depth research, tracing stories back to academic papers or original sources.
• Fact-check scripts meticulously to maintain the highest standards of accuracy.
• Incorporate new research, scientific discoveries, and advancements into video scripts.

Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Business, Geo-politics, Finance, or a related social science field.
• Excellent research, reading comprehension, and fact-checking skills.
• Strong project management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality content.
• Passion for educating and inspiring others about social sciences.

Desirable

• Proven experience in long-form or feature science communication, ideally with knowledge of science YouTube or Podcast content.
• Experience working with talent and casting for video/audio projects.
• Experience with physics simulations and ad hoc programming (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
