Principal Platform Specialist

What is The Role

Elastic is seeking a Principal Platform Specialist to become an elite leader, playing a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, operational excellence, and continuous innovation of Elastic solutions within services. This leader sets the global services practice vision for platform, encompassing multiple dimensions from strategic planning to execution, ensuring the practice remains aligned with services goals, Elastic product roadmap, and industry trends.

What You Will Be Doing

Services Offering Development and Ongoing Management

• Design and develop clear, value-driven service offerings that meet customer needs and market demand.
• Identify high-value use cases across industries and create frameworks for their successful implementation.
• Build, automate, and streamline processes for developing and deploying solutions.

Sales and Delivery Support and Quality Control

• Drive scalable, ethical, and impactful solutions to ensure measurable business outcomes and long-term success while supporting the sale and delivery of our most complex engagements.
• Act as the primary liaison for all platform-related endeavors, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Monitor and ensure high-quality sales and delivery of all large-scale Elastic consulting engagements.

Product Integration

• Work with Product and Engineering teams to share customer and services team feedback from the field, and drive co-innovation efforts to increase customer value and satisfaction.
• Understand the product roadmap to ensure service readiness by anticipating and enabling the necessary development and execution ahead of product releases.

Community Enablement, Engagement, and Development

• Ensure excellence by training service team members on the capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations of Elastic to boost confidence and understanding.
• Participate in the ARB (Architecture Review Board) leadership team to establish and maintain technical guidelines, best practices, and protocols. Contribute to discussions and decision-making within the ARB leadership to shape technical direction.
• Serve on promotion panels to evaluate candidates for senior-level advancement, ensuring objective and standardized criteria are applied.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of professional services, consulting, or related field.
• Deep expertise in orchestration and cloud technologies, frameworks, and applications, with hands-on experience implementing software and solutions.
• Proven ability to define and execute a global strategy for software adoption, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and drive innovation.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Virtualization, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, GCP, Azure, AWS tools, scripting, and related technologies, combined with experience in creating reusable assets and scalable solutions.
• Successfully managed complex projects, including defining timelines, allocating resources, and delivering on-time, high-quality results.
• Enterprise architecture, system architecture, and system design experience.
• Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build trust with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Deep technical expertise and knowledge of Elasticsearch and Elastic Solutions.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time, as required.

Bonus Points

• Experience in building automation scripts, tools, or frameworks for complex architecture solution delivery.
• Familiarity with developing enablement programs, including training workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• A track record of public references or case studies showcasing successful large-scale architecture implementations.
• Enterprise architecture / system architecture / system design.
• Certifications in technologies, such as Kubernetes, Virtualization, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, GCP, Azure, AWS, Elastic, Linux, Networking, DevOps, Security.
