By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI.

What is The Role

We are looking for an experienced HR Compliance professional to support our EMEA region. This role is strategic, operational, and cross-functional, focusing on embedding compliance into business practices. In this role, you will bring strong relationship building and communication skills, coupled with deep regulatory knowledge across EMEA. You will report to our Director of HR Operations, Labor Relations & Compliance. This role is full time and will work closely with team members across all time zones.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure that the company's activities and operations remain compliant with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Develop and execute compliance roadmaps across EMEA, prioritizing initiatives based on regulatory and business risk.
  • Monitor and evaluate new potential compliance requirements, advising on risks and impacts, as well as implementing obligations where needed that align with our company’s approach and risk profile.
  • Drive multiple initiatives simultaneously, managing deadlines, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with teams to embed compliance in daily operations, rather than simply providing guidance.
  • Project Manage cross-functional compliance related initiatives to ensure timely completion, preparedness and execution with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners responsible for specific compliance activities (both within HR and external to HR like Legal, Finance, Internal Audit).
  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable, understandable, and practical rules for diverse local teams and prioritize initiatives based on business and regulatory risk.
  • Train and raise awareness in a pragmatic way by explaining the “why,” not just the “what.”
  • Build and develop strong internal relationships across the HR & Legal functions.
  • Manage and develop the relationship with our Compliance vendor to ensure high quality output is delivered by them.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, or have demonstrable experience, education, and training.
  • Extensive knowledge of EMEA regulatory frameworks, laws, and regulations pertinent to the technology sector and key compliance areas.
  • Ability to diagnose compliance gaps, challenge existing practices, and implement practical solutions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and strong curiosity about employment laws, policies, and legislative trends.
  • Comfort in a fast-changing, complex environment, balancing risk, compliance, and business objectives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including thoughtfully articulating expectations, risk, and mitigation plans to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confident communicator and trainer on compliance topics.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple topics and functions.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective HR compliance programs, policies, and procedures covering multiple countries in a region and/or multiple regions.
  • Proven experience in driving compliance and/or projects programs across multiple countries in EMEA, with a cross-functional approach.
  • Ability to operate with clear role boundaries, recognizing where compliance leadership ends and functional ownership begins, and enabling partner teams to execute effectively within their areas of responsibility.
  • A sense of humor and willingness to roll with the changes is definitely a plus!
