Role Overview
As the Principal Product Manager – Search Relevance, you will lead the innovative evolution of Elasticsearch query languages and vector database capabilities. This role involves spearheading cross-team initiatives, writing detailed product artifacts, and bridging technical product ownership with customer insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategic vision for new query languages and vector database functionalities.
- Drive complex, cross-functional initiatives with engineering, platform, and research teams.
- Champion the evolution of Elastic's search architecture including vector indexing and similarity searches.
- Develop detailed PRDs and technical documents to enhance developer usability.
- Engage with customers, developers, and the open-source community to validate designs.
- Manage P&L aspects related to feature growth, pricing, margins, and cost evaluations.
What You Bring
- Proven leadership in launching complex technical products in search, databases, or AI/ML platforms.
- Deep expertise in vector databases, similarity search algorithms, and distributed architecture.
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts.
- Experience in creating product artifacts and driving developer-facing services.
- Strong technical background, including the ability to read code and engage in engineering discussions.
