Pediatric Medical Assistant Bilingual Spanish English
El Centro de Corazón is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Medical Assistant who is fluent in both Spanish and English. This role is an integral part of our interdisciplinary medical team, serving as the first point of contact for clients entering our clinical care area and acting as a crucial liaison between front desk staff and medical providers.Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine client intake procedures including height, weight, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration readings.
- Assist with office procedures and triage clients, ensuring charts are routed to the appropriate provider.
- Support medical providers during examinations and treatments, maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, and perform sterilization as required.
- Provide translation and interpretation services between Spanish and English speaking clients and staff.
- Conduct vision acuity screenings using the Snellen method and perform audiometry exams.
- Maintain medical and laboratory equipment, including regular quality control checks.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures such as dipsticks, urinalysis, hematocrit, glucose screening, and gram stains, adhering to CLIA standards.
- Manage the supply room, order supplies monthly, and report any clinic issues to the clinic manager.
Qualifications
- Certified or registered medical assistant.
- Fluent in Spanish and English is required.
- Current CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a medical assistant role is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated personal maturity, cooperation, and ability to communicate clearly.
- Required vaccinations: Influenza, HEP B, TB Skin Test, Varicella, and MMR.
