As a Pharmacist - Nights, you will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services to inpatients, outpatients, employees, and the general public. A key aspect of this role involves offering education, information, and expert advice to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication use, selection, dosage, and administration. You will also be responsible for effectively supervising support personnel and overseeing the preceptorship of pharmacy students and residents, ensuring they gain valuable educational experiences and develop competence in delivering compassionate, safe, and effective pharmaceutical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Select, prepare, distribute, dispense, and monitor drugs, chemicals, solutions, and materials for medical and scientific use, adhering to state and federal laws and professional practice standards.
- Provide functional direction to supportive personnel involved in pharmacy activities.
- Offer clinical expertise and judgments essential for the proper utilization, administration, and monitoring of medications, in collaboration with medical and nursing staff.
- Deliver patient counseling and medication education services to a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, including pharmacy students and residents.
Qualifications
- Pharm.D degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- ASHP Accredited Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Residency.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
- Current California pharmacist license.
