Job Overview

Edward Jones is seeking a Security Solution Architect to support our digital transformation by embedding security into solution architecture. This role will help drive business agility, scalability, and resilience across on-premises and cloud environments.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with solution architecture teams, product owners, and engineering teams to embed Information Systems security policies, standards, and requirements early in the design process.
• Advocate for a security-by-design approach in cloud and digital transformation initiatives.
• Review and recommend architectures to ensure security controls are embedded into designs and patterns, supporting scalability, reliability, and compliance.
• Contribute to security patterns, guidelines, and reusable artifacts to foster secure-by-design practices across teams.
• Provide guidance on technology selection and operational processes for running systems in a cloud environment.
• Participate in proof-of-concept efforts for new SaaS and IaaS applications to represent security requirements.

Hiring Minimum: $120000

Hiring Maximum: $204300

What Experience You'll Need

• Minimum 8 years' experience in cybersecurity as a practitioner.
• Experience designing secure architectures for cloud and on-premises solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and credibility across technical and business teams.
• Must be able to present effectively to multiple audiences including firm-wide business units, senior leaders, associates, and external vendors.
• Ability to translate security requirements into actionable guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience developing and applying cloud security policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).

What Could Set You Apart

• Hands-on experience and subject matter expertise with Microsoft Azure.
• Working knowledge across infrastructure and application domains, including networking, storage, operating systems, identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management (PAM), single sign-on (SSO), encryption standards, and vendor engagement.
• Technology background in the financial sector.
• Experience promoting secure-by-design principles in agile or DevOps environments.
• Understanding of various regulatory requirements and laws such as Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and New York Codes Rules and Regulations (NYCRR).
• Microsoft Architect certifications, ISC2 certifications, SANS certifications.

Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
