Job Overview

This full-time Branch Auditor position is critical for achieving the Compliance Division's purpose at Edward Jones. The role promotes clients' best interests and fosters an environment of trust by continuously strengthening our culture of compliance. Branch Auditors execute a risk-based audit program, conducting inspections of branch offices and registered locations. They also engage in tailored compliance discussions with branch team members to protect clients, branch teams, and the firm. This role offers flexibility to be based in HQ offices in St. Louis or Tempe, work remotely from home, or operate under a hybrid arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk-based reviews of business practices, processes, client accounts, and electronic records using data analytics, reports, and tailored discussions to test compliance with industry regulations and firm policies.
  • Partner with Financial Advisors and branch teams using a client-centric approach to help them build successful and compliant businesses.
  • Provide clear verbal and written communication regarding review outcomes, potential concerns, risk areas, necessary actions, and provided resources.
  • Collaborate to address potential issues or risk areas with Financial Advisors, branch teams, and home office associates; determine when escalation to leadership or other areas is needed.
  • Participate in department projects and initiatives focused on improving department processes and audit program effectiveness.
  • Travel approximately 40% to 50% of the time (around two weeks per month) to conduct inspections and tailored compliance discussions.

Compensation and Benefits

Edward Jones' comprehensive compensation and benefits package includes medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost. The firm offers a 401k retirement plan, health savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts. Associates receive ten paid holidays, 15 days of vacation for new associates annually, sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Eligibility for bonuses and profit sharing is also a possibility. All associates have access to the firm's Employee Assistance Program. The hiring minimum salary for this role is $63,200, with a maximum of $104,200.

Skills & Requirements

  • Active Series 7 and 63 or 66 licenses (or equivalent) are required.
  • Series 9, 10, and 24 licenses are required or must be obtained within 12 weeks of hire.
  • Travel is required 40-50% of the time (approximately two weeks per month) to conduct inspections and tailored compliance discussions.
  • Financial service experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of financial services products, industry rules and regulations, and firm policies and processes, with an eagerness to continuously learn.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, active listening, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and manage conflict with empathy and respect.
  • Deliver results independently and through partnership in a dynamic environment.
