General Description
The Quality Assurance Specialist supports the Regional Head Start Director and staff by ensuring the quality and compliance of administrative services. This role monitors and reports on programmatic areas of the Head Start grant to maintain regulatory and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Regional Head Start Director to monitor compliance with Head Start standards and ECS4Kids policies.
- Conduct regular reviews of staff files, child files, and other documentation.
- Inspect classrooms, playgrounds, kitchens, and shared spaces for compliance; document findings in ChildPlus.
- Monitor medication administration, health and safety initiatives, and emergency preparedness protocols.
- Oversee In-Kind contributions and ensure accuracy of Program Information Reports (PIR).
- Recommend corrective actions and assist in strengthening internal controls.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports as required.
- Stay current with software tools and provide technical support as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Health Administration, Social Work or related field preferred; 2 years of related experience required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, program databases, and report-writing software.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles; strong analytical and data monitoring skills.
- Ability to train and coach staff, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications & Requirements
- Complete TB screening & physical before children contact; renew every 2 years.
- 15 hours of annual professional development training required.
- Valid driver's license, proof of automobile coverage, and satisfactory driving record.
Environmental & Physical Requirements
- Office and center-based settings with local travel to multiple sites.
- Occasional evening, weekend, or out-of-town work may be required.
- Ability to sit, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Normal range of hearing and vision; clear communication abilities.
