At ECS4Kids (formerly Episcopal Children’s Services), we honor young children’s immense potential by preparing them for school through enriching guided experiences and discovery-oriented learning. We work across Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), Head Start, School Readiness, and Child Care Resource & Referral (CCRR) programs throughout Florida.

Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist provides support to the Head Start Director and support staff by monitoring program quality and ensuring compliance with various standards and regulations.

Major Responsibilities

• Monitor program quality using Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards and other criteria.
• Review and report on staff, child, home-based, volunteer, intern, and substitute teacher files.
• Ensure classroom, playground, and home environments comply with established standards.
• Review ERSEA files for ongoing compliance.
• Monitor health and safety initiatives including medication administration.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports.
• Maintain and update software systems used for monitoring and reporting.

Organizational Relationship

Reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Health Administration, Social Work or related field (preferred).
• 1-3 years related work experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile coverage, with a satisfactory driving record.
• 15 hours of in-service/professional development training per fiscal year.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with program databases, report writing software, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and data analysis.
• Confidentiality, organizational skills, and multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.

Environmental Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Works in an office setting with local travel to multiple sites.
• Occasional night, weekend, or out-of-town work may be required.
• Must meet acceptable eyesight and hearing standards; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
